DrupalConSF 2010 was a big success with about 3.000 attendees, proving that Drupal is hot! Unfortunately, a lot of European drupalistas could not make it to San Francisco due to the volcanic ashcloud. Instead of us going to DrupalCon, we brought DrupalCon to us!

DrupalVolConBE took place as a 2 day event, at the same time as DrupalConSF, in the Krimson offices in Antwerp. It was a big hit. Some 40+ participants attended the VolCon. As we had to come up with something on extremely short notice, we decided to organize the VolCon in true unconference style. Within 36 hours, 13 proposals where submitted to our call for sessions. The rest of the slots got filled with BOF's and ad hoc speakers. We also tuned into the livestream provided by BrightCove to follow the keynotes in San Fransisco.

The VolCon was all about being cutting edge. Most participants were highly skilled Drupal developers which allowed us to organize sessions which went in-depth on an array of advanced topics like Apache Solr, code driven development, Display Suite, UX, project deployment, project management and much more. There is a particular demand for more events of this kind. It gives highly skilled drupalistas an opportunity to network and share knowledge among peers. As a start, we're organizing a session on code driven development together with Nuvole at the end of May. Watch Krimson.be or Drupal.be for updates on this.

The VolCon ended up being a big success. Even though we could not make it to SF, we had our share of Drupal hotness :) See you in Copenhagen!
